What are Veneers?
Veneers are thin porcelain coverings, similar to false fingernails. They are made from the same strong porcelains used to make all-porcelain crowns, and are bonded to natural tooth tissue. Veneers can be used to disguise the original colour, shade or shape of your teeth, or to close gaps between the teeth. Your smile can be quickly, comfortably, and beautifully transformed!
Before a tooth can be veneered, a small amount of enamel has to be removed from the front of the tooth to provide space for the porcelain. An impression of the tooth is sent to a dental laboratory where the veneer is made to match the colour and shape of your teeth. The veneer is bonded into place using composite resin cement after roughening the tooth surface with a mild etching solution.
